Step 1. Open a browser window (Preferably Google Chrome) and type in the URL bar https://coker.brightspace.com
Step 2. You will next be asked to sign in. Your sign-in for this page will be your full email address. For students, it would be first name dot last name for example: [email protected], and for staff and faculty, this will be first initial and last name for example: [email protected].
Step 3. Next, you will be asked to enter your password for Microsoft. See below for the First Time Users Password. If you would like to change your password, you may do so by clicking forgot my password and following the steps to reset it to a password of your choosing. You can then press sign in after you have entered your password.
First Time Users Password:
The first four letters of last name followed by the 8-digit birth date in MMDDYYYY format with no slashes or dashes. The first letter will be uppercase case, while the next three letters will be lowercase. If the last name is fewer than 4 letters, an asterisk will be used to pad the difference.

Coker Cobras born January 1, 1908

John Doe born January 1, 1908
Email: john.doe
Password: Doe*01011908
Step 4. Choose to stay signed in or not. If you are using a personal device that only you use, it is advised to choose yes. Otherwise, choose no if you are temporarily using the device to sign in.
Step 5. You will now be asked to provide more information to keep your account secure. Click Next.
Step 6. You will now be requested to download the Microsoft Authenticator App on a phone or tablet. You can download this app from either the IOS App Store (Apple Devices) or Google Store (Android devices). If you already have a different authentication app on your device that you prefer, you can click the link that says “I want to use a different authenticator app”. Once it is downloaded, Click the next button.
Step 7. Now you will need to scan the QR code. If your device does not have a QR scanner by default, Please click the “Can’t Scan Image?” button. On the Authenticator App, Click the plus sign and select Scan QR code. After Scanning, click the Next button.
Step 8. You will now receive a test login code. On your device, make sure you are in the authenticator app and type in the number provided. After you enter the code, click Next.
Step 9. After a successful test of the authentication app, you will receive the screen below with a green checkmark showing the notification was approved. Click Next.
Step 10. Choose to stay signed in or not. If you are using a personal device that only you use, it is advised to choose Yes. Otherwise, choose No if you are using a public lab computer or temporary device to sign in.
*If you are navigated back to Step 3 (Username Login), please follow the steps again to get back to this stay signed in screen.*
